Questo adattatore trasforma lo slot PCIE X4/X8/X16 della scheda madre in uno slot M.2 Key M per l'installazione di un'unità SSD M.2 NVMe. Gli slot PCIE X1/PCI non sono supportati. È dotato di dissipatori che raffreddano le unità SSD M.2 di 5-20°C.
Funziona con le unità SSD M.2 NVMe PCIE 4.0/3.0. Per ottenere la piena velocità di PCIE 4.0 X4, la CPU, gli slot e l'unità SSD devono essere tutti supportati. Nota: le CPU Intel inferiori all'undicesima generazione non supportano il PCIE 4.0.
Nessun limite di capacità per le unità SSD M.2 NVMe (2T e 4T). Supporta i formati 22110/2280/2260/2242/2230. Le nuove unità SSD devono essere inizializzate e formattate. Le unità SSD M.2 SATA non sono supportate.
Compatibile con Windows 11/10/8, Linux e Mac OS. Supporta l'avvio del sistema operativo da un'unità SSD NVMe, ad eccezione di alcune vecchie schede madri (utilizzabili come memoria). Windows 7 non dispone di un driver NVMe nativo; scaricarlo da Microsoft o dal sito del produttore dell'SSD.
