These copper counterflow coolers are probably one of the fastest ways to cool wort. They are similar in efficiency to the 30 plate cooler, but are easier to clean because there are no small gaps to trap hop material and other solids.
They have a diameter of 23 cm, a height of about 18 cm and an overall length of 6 metres. The input and output ends have an outside diameter of approximately 10 mm.
These units can be used under gravity, but are recommended for use with a pump.
Please note: These inexpensive counterflow coolers have a pliable polymer outer cover. As such, they should not be exposed to unregulated tap water pressure, which can easily reach around 100psi when flow is restricted.
